The SuperBall® All-Suture Meniscal Repair System
SuperBall delivers strong fixation, procedural efficiency, and the control of an all-suture, all-inside technique. As the only all-inside system designed to replicate gold-standard inside-out tensioning, SuperBall gives surgeons greater consistency, improved reproducibility, and confidence in every repair.
Designed for Effective, Reliable Meniscus Repair
Key Features and Benefits
-
The Meniscal Repair System is the only all-inside device with a tensioning mechanism that mimics gold standard inside-out tensioning of the meniscus, addressing the #1 deployment problem of other devices.
-
The system’s proprietary repair suture mesh lays flat, protecting the repaired meniscus and the articulating cartilage. This avoids the “cheese wiring” cut-through effect of other devices that use high-strength suture.
-
The SuperBall technology enables extracapsular fixation to secure the repair and leaves no knots in the joint space.
-
The low profile crescent shaped needle creates a narrow cut preserving the structural integrity of the meniscus vs. other systems that create puncture holes potentially compromising the structural integrity of the meniscus.
Setting a New Gold Standard for All-Inside Tensioning
Addressing the Challenges of Existing All-Inside Devices
Technique At a Glance
The surgical technique is a three-part process, similar to traditional all-inside techniques. Refer to the full surgical technique for a complete guide and description of all steps.
Deployment - After setting the depth and releasing the safety, the needle is inserted through the meniscus and a first suture bundle is deployed, followed by positioning to the second site and deploying the second suture bundle.
Tensioning - Without removing the insertion device, the repair is tensioned gradually until sufficient tension is achieved, and then the tensioning suture is released using the red button.
Locking - The SuperBall is deployed and locked using the actuating suture. Only then is the insertion device removed, and the remaining actuating suture is cut flush to the meniscus.
